I need to buy a banjo! Awesome!
You heard the one about the guy who left his car unlocked and had left his banjo in the back seat... when he got back there were two banjos

Love your videos! When do you think you'll make a "Bluegrass with Friends" book #2?
I'm working on it, so it might happen in 2025 but as they say, don't start holding your breath just yet. I have plenty of content, but not as much time.
Love your videos, please don't stop posting. Greetings from Germany :)
Hi. I like the camera angle. Please tell me, classical violinists never let rosin cake up on the fiddle, yet most fiddlers do. Why is that? Isn’t it harmful to the varnish? I wipe my down after each practice session.
Oooh. Your thumb unbent.
💢👏🙏Beautiful
Thanks for listening
Am without the 1st finger aka Asus2
Ha ha, you sussed it out.
WOW didn't know you had a channel .. so awesome.
Welcome aboard!
Thanks Mike. I love the singing with the fiddle. I’m going to start practicing on trying to get that technique down. Thanks
Thank you Jay!
I will get one when I live in isolation, far from rock throwing neighbours 😅
💢🌟🌟🌟👍
When my fiddle player gave me the stink eye, i grabbed his hippy beard, yanked it down, and gave him a swift kick in the rear. The problem was the bass player was bigger than me he yanked the last three hairs on my head out, the 14 sticking out of my nose, and gave me a swift kick in the rear. Now it hurts to sit down, my eyes are watering, and i have a bump on my head where those hairs got pulled out. I should have listened to the teacher😢😂.
It's all about the bass.
PERFECT !
Your videos are very helpful. Thank you so much!
@AHumanWallpaper Thanks a lot!
Thanks Mike! Love your channel. It’s great I can play along. Gave me a couple cool licks for “Cluck ol’Hen”. I’d like to put in a request for a lesson on “Groundhog”.
@jaycrouse4380 Thanks Jay, i'll see what i can do!
Thank goodness. I have been on YT for about an hour. Trying to find someone who isn't 20, to teach me some flatpicking basics. As a life long extreme metal guitarist that grew up a country boy, I'm at the point now I want to learn this stuff. I feel my playing is at a level where I can actually finally get this down. I am so excited to learn this stuff. Recently my dad picked up a guitar and he is learning. I can't wait to blow his mind when I start playing this shit once I get it down.
Thank you kindly. It is cool you are finding this music to share with your dad. I started playing at age 12 with my father and grandfather. I love music bringing family and friends together. www.bluegrasswithfriends.com/about
@@BluegrassWithFriends Thats so cool man. Thanks fore response
My kid just started to learn violin. Her mom has her in lessons but most of the practice she doesn’t like. I’m trying to get her to play something fun. She loves orange blossom special and is basically using this song to actually improve lol
Thanks so much! I now have tomorrow's fiddle practice planned.
Have fun!
My dad told me to look for this, thanks 😊
@tortoiseINdistress thanks for watching!
Thank you for showing that and taking the time!
@aksks762 Your welcome!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Which tuning is this?
low to high G B D G B D
That’s awesome!
Thats Nice Thanks!
Mike, your just not a great teacher but a Good Friend! Mark from Florida. Hope to see you at a festival someday!
Come to Hardtimes Bluegrass Festival or Miles City Bluegrass Festival in Montana. Tha band i'm in,MONTANA STANDARD BLUEGRASS will be preforming at both this summer. Thanks Mike
Are you turning the bow back and forth instead of making it go back and forth like normal
@jagsdomain203 just go back and forth like normal. You may notice some player rotate the bow a bit as they go back and forth. This gives you a bit different tone. Give it a try and see what you think, but focus your efforts on a smooth back and forth bowing like usual.
Really helpful. Not sure I will ever get that fast, but it’s something to shoot for! Thanks
Keep trying and have fun doi it!
Wait was that last part real?
@CraftingCole ,Yes i just sped up a bit! Thanks
Your the only one that plays it right on UA-cam.
Thanks i try!
What kind of guitar is this?
Its a h copy of a home built copy of a Martin D 18 i got used from MUSIC VILLa in Bpzeman Mt. Thanks
sorry man///nonsense...and sounds aweful
👏👏👏
good on you, everyone does it in G....about time someone did it in the real tuning
Thanks !
Explained perfectly. Thanks for posting. This is how you teach a song, so everyone gets it.
Thanks, David. I appreciate your kind words.
Mike, would you try "Curtain in the windur", Ray Prices´s best.
That is a great tune. I'll try to get to it, but I'm busy for a few weeks so it will be later on.
💯💢⭐⭐⭐I liked this very much.Bravooo!
Thank you!
@@BluegrassWithFriends When I was a child, we had a neighbor in the neighborhood. I grew up with him. You are exactly the same as him. He is not with us now. You remind me of him. I also have a violin made by my father. I play sometimes.

Thanks, Mike for the great tips, greetings from Finland🎻

its never to late to start!
Awesome, helpful, thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks Mike! I've learned a lot from you over the years.
Glad to help!
Nicely demonstrated and explained Mike. Well done, and more please..!! 👍
Brilliant. Not very beginnery....😂
Try slowing down the video using the UA-cam tools and working on just one small section at a time, maybe even just 4 or 8 notes. Then put the little sections together and play that little group until you build up the entire song 🎵 piece by piece. Let me know if you want, I can break it down more. Thanks for your comment.
Excellent!! Is possible for you to put that in a tab or PDF and post it here?
I will try to get the tab for this rolls exercise posted soon. 😅
Mike, l was listening to you talking about that turnaround and this song starts with that turnaround "be nobodys darling but mine" lol, "nothing new under the sun". ua-cam.com/video/oflOSkH_eA8/v-deo.html
